Think you’re using the best websites to find consumer health information? Check out the ratings on the 20 most popular health websites at www.healthratings.org. This is a joint project of Consumer Reports Webwatch & the Health Improvement Institute.

Many of my favorites made the Top 20 and were given a rating of “excellent”.

The #1 site is…

  • National Institues of Health (includes MedlinePlus)
  • #5 MedicineNet
  • #7 MayoClinic
  • #10 Drugs.com
  • #13 KidsHealth

They also discuss the 10 criteria used to rate the site, which provides an excellent checklist for evaluating all consumer health resources.
